Her Story
About Morgan
I've been in the insurance industry for about 8 months now, which is actually my third career. Before this, I spent a little under 3 years in pharmaceutical marketing. My day-to-day is very routine - I'm in the office 5 days a week, coming in with my coffee and a granola bar, ready to start the day. I prospect in the mornings, send out emails, and I'm on calls all day, just trying to get people on the phone to talk about their employee benefits. I speak to small business owners throughout New Jersey and the U.S. Right now, we're dealing with hard conversations about medical renewals and what's going on in the world. In 2026, people weren't expecting healthcare costs to rise as much as it did, and it's really affecting people. My job is really to help take an overall look at what they have and try to save them money, because people can go out of business just based on their medical costs for their employees right now. It's very relationship-based work, and I focus on informing what's best for my clients and really making sure that they get what they need. Personally, my goal in my profession is to obviously help grow my book of business and make this a career rather than a job.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Morgan
01What do you attribute your success to?
I definitely would thank my family and fiancé - they have pushed me to get to this point and have supported me along the way. Throughout my career, I've had people who help me believe that I can, but then there's those people who doubt you, and it's really important to make sure that you always believe in yourself. That strong mentality of going and pursuing what would benefit me in the long run, like going for my MBA during COVID when we were locked down, is something I'm really proud of myself for doing. It was challenging, but I kind of accepted that challenge and wanted to better myself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be confident in yourself and your knowledge of what you do. It's just super important to believe in yourself. You'll have people throughout your career kind of help you believe that you can, but then there's those people who doubt you, and it's really important to make sure that you always believe in yourself.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Definitely be strong. We are one of a kind, especially in insurance - it's definitely male-dominated. Make sure that you have a voice, and really believe in yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Definitely just hard conversations with the medical renewal and what's going on in the world right now. I feel like in 2026, people weren't expecting healthcare costs to rise as much as it did. It really is affecting people, so my job is really to help just really take an overall look at what they have and try to save them money, because people can go out of business just based on their medical costs for their employees right now. It's absurd.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Definitely relationships. I think both personally and professionally, that's what business is built around, and that's what life is built around. It just works in different ways.
