Morgan Tageson VrMeer is a seasoned wine industry professional serving as Sales and Marketing Manager at Opus One Winery LLC in Napa, California. With more than a decade of experience in the wine sector, she has built a career centered on luxury brand development, sales strategy, customer engagement, and strategic communications. She began her journey at Opus One in guest relations, where she developed expertise in hospitality, wine education, events, and relationship management before transitioning into communications and marketing leadership roles.
Morgan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Wine Business and Marketing from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and later earned an MBA in Executive Management from Ohio University. Throughout her career, she has combined her passion for wine with business expertise, overseeing brand standards, marketing initiatives, distributor education, pricing strategies, sales reporting, and personalized customer outreach for Opus One’s national accounts. Her work reflects a balance of creativity and analytics, helping strengthen the winery’s position as a leading name in the luxury wine market.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Morgan is actively involved in the Napa Valley wine community and was selected as a member of the Napa Valley Vintners Leadership Program, where she contributes to initiatives supporting the future of the region and the wine industry. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Ag4Youth, a nonprofit focused on empowering young people through agriculture-based programs. Known for her adaptability, perseverance, and commitment to continuous learning, Morgan values collaboration, integrity, and mentorship while advocating for a culture of excellence, community involvement, and meaningful connections.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to curiosity, perseverance, and a willingness to continuously learn. Embracing new opportunities, remaining adaptable, and balancing both creativity and business strategy have been key factors.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My current boss Scott Gould believed in me from when I was in communications, knew my work ethic, and encouraged me to pursue the sales and marketing position even without distributor background.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be confident in yourself, it's okay to ask for help, give yourself grace, treat yourself like you would a dear friend, seek excellence instead of perfection.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include slower growth in wine drinking due to economy and younger generations turning away from alcohol. Opportunities in teaching the experience, science, and stories behind wine to connect with new audiences.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, collaboration, continuous learning, and balance. Building meaningful relationships, striving for excellence, and maintaining perspective while balancing career with family life.
