Her Story

About Morgan

Morgan Taylor is a Regional Director at A New Hope Home Care in Asheville, North Carolina, with more than 15 years of experience in pediatric home health care and private duty nursing. She joined the organization in 2011, providing direct in-home care to medically complex pediatric clients, and has since advanced through every aspect of the business, including but not limited to scheduling, billing, and administration—building a comprehensive understanding of home care operations and family-centered services along the way.

Morgan's expertise spans the full scope of private duty nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, nurse-family relationships, billing, and contract negotiations. She is a member of the North Carolina Home Care Association and Hospice, and her breadth of experience has made her a knowledgeable advocate for improving private duty nursing services and supporting the families, nurses, and caregivers navigating complex healthcare needs.

Morgan's commitment to pediatric home care is both professional and deeply personal. Her daughter was born with gastroschisis, giving Morgan firsthand insight into the challenges families face during hospitalizations, surgeries, and long-term medical care. That experience shapes her compassionate, advocacy-driven approach to leadership and reinforces her dedication to helping medically fragile children live fulfilling lives at home. Morgan credits her professional growth to learning every aspect of the business firsthand, and she continues to lead with empathy, practical expertise, and a strong commitment to the families she serves.

Ten minutes with Morgan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to learning every aspect of the business through hands-on experience and comprehensive training, along with leading with compassion and advocacy. I focus on meeting families where they are, breaking down barriers to care, and helping children live fulfilling lives at home, while providing a much-needed balance to the loved ones caring for them.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to always lead with quality and compassionate care at the center of all that we do. Focusing on meeting each individual exactly where they are in their present moment, and delivering the highest level of health care, to ensure they can live their lives to the fullest.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry: lead with compassion, advocate fiercely for the people you serve, and never lose sight of the impact your work has on children and families. Your voice matters — you can be the change you want to see, for your patients and for the industry as a whole. Don't be afraid to speak up, take up space, and do what's right, even when the challenges feel bigger than you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is not always knowing how much time a child has—whether it may be a few months or several years—and ensuring that every moment of care and support makes a meaningful difference.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are compassion, empathy, and advocacy. My personal experience as a mother of a child with medical needs has deeply shaped my career and strengthened my commitment to supporting children and families with understanding and purpose.
