Her Story
About Mrs
I've been working in my field since 2014, when I started my fashion design career. This has been a passion for me since I was a little kid, and I'm completely self-taught. I design wedding dresses, prom dresses, birthday outfits, club wear, and swimwear. In 2023, I started my second career in animated storytelling. I've kept a diary throughout my life, and I decided to sit down and record myself talking about the things I've written about - basically speaking about the things I went through in life to get me to where I am today. Maybe it can help another woman or man, or a younger person that's going through those things, so they don't go down the same road. Through my YouTube channel, I've gained a very large platform and fan base. It's helped me learn how to deal with people, because I didn't really know how to do that at some point. I'm most proud of overcoming my challenges and being able to talk and communicate now. I value the family that I have created as a new mom and wife, and I value my YouTube community - my tribe that I built. It's a very strong community.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Mrs
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my life experiences. If I didn't go through most of the things that I went through, then I wouldn't really be able to do this, I feel like, because that's really mainly what I'm speaking about. I've decided to speak about it, you know, maybe to help another woman or man, or a younger person that's going through those things, so they don't go down the same road.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell her to take her time with anything - with any decision or anything that comes her way. Don't rush into anything without sitting down and actually thinking it through. Pay attention to intricate details, and pay attention to the way people treat you. The way a person acts, you know, the way you meet someone, or how you meet someone, and the way they act - when a person shows you who they are, believe them. Especially with relationships and friendships, just take your time with everything. Don't rush to grow up. Don't rush into things because you're being pressured into those things. Just don't rush, you know?
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge with doing my YouTube is learning to deal with what we call trolls - people that just like to come and just say the most outlandish, rudest things. You never know what a person is going through, so there are days where, as a new mom going through postpartum right now, I'll read those comments and I have to try to tell myself, you know, this is just people being people. I feel like one of the biggest challenges for me when it comes to content creation on YouTube is dealing with difficult people. And when it comes to fashion design, it's dealing with difficult customers, so it brings me back to dealing with difficult people again.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
As being a new mom and a wife, I value the family that I have created. And I value my family on content, you know, on my YouTube - my tribe, my community that I built. It's a very strong community. So, you know, I value those most definitely, a lot.
