Her Story

About MsJ7

I started as a boring apartment manager but after my daughter came home wanting circus classes in 2010, I took her and discovered hidden talents from being a Texas State Championship cheerleader and professional ballerina. I coached until 2020 and started my own Cirque entertainment production company. We specialize in Cirque du Soleil style performances for TV, film, commercials, music videos, parties, corporate events and festivals. By 2017 we surpassed SeaWorld for Best Family Entertainment. I now focus on producing and booking while still doing some performances like fire eating and giant bubbles. I perform for a purpose, mixing magic with humanitarian passions.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with MsJ7

01What do you attribute your success to?

My relationship and walk with God keeps me grounded and grateful. I am a chameleon who can fit into any industry because of my strong faith and the Holy Spirit guiding me daily. I wake up grateful for everything from clothes on my back to the people around me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Stop comparing yourself to others because you are not competition to anybody but yourself. Stay focused on your own dream and goal rather than worrying about what others think or say.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stop comparing yourself to others because you are not competition to anybody but yourself. Stay focused on your own dream and goal rather than worrying about what others think or say. Remember you are only in competition with yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Jealousy and a competitive mindset among women in the industry instead of collaboration. Many assume you need to be born into circus or train your whole life, but hidden talents from other backgrounds can lead to success if you stay focused on your own path.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My faith and relationship with God and the Holy Spirit are most important. I believe in collaborating rather than competing, performing for a purpose, and staying true to my humanitarian passions without selling my soul to certain industries.
