About Mychelle

Mychelle Humphris serves as Senior Event Coordinator at Evans General Contractors, a leading construction firm with approximately 700 to 800 employees across eight U.S. locations and one international office in Germany. Over the past five years, she has played an integral role in developing and executing events that strengthen company culture, foster employee engagement, and support community partnerships. In her current role, Mychelle manages a wide range of events, including groundbreakings, topping-out ceremonies, ribbon cuttings, worker appreciation days, and employee enrichment programs such as golf tournaments that support charitable causes. Her ability to coordinate complex logistics, build relationships, and create meaningful experiences has established her as a valued leader within the organization.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Mychelle is passionate about community service and serves as the leader of HONOR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing and supporting the Alpharetta, Milton, and Roswell Police Departments. Through her leadership, HONOR has organized impactful fundraising events, including the expansion of Honor 1080, and has contributed to raising more than $200,000 for local law enforcement initiatives. She has also spearheaded community outreach efforts, including a backpack drive that provided school supplies to families and students throughout the North Fulton community. Mychelle is an active member of ABC Georgia and holds a Certified Corporate Event Planner certification earned in 2024.

Mychelle began her career in the construction industry through a temporary placement with Stellar Group in Jacksonville, Florida, where she gained valuable experience as an administrative assistant before transitioning into events at Evans General Contractors. She was instrumental in helping build the company’s events department from the ground up, bringing creativity, organization, and a collaborative approach to every initiative. Mychelle attributes her success to the strength of her team, particularly Sarah and Brianna, whose support and partnership have been essential to her accomplishments. She values honesty, dedication, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance while raising two young sons and demonstrating the importance of perseverance and hard work. Outside of her professional and community commitments, Mychelle enjoys Irish dancing and previously shared her passion by teaching the art form to others. Recognized for her leadership and impact, she was selected as a Top Influential Woman for 2026 and continues to serve as an Honor Ambassador.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Mychelle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the incredible support, collaboration, and dedication of the Evans team and my own team. The success of many of the events and initiatives we accomplish would not be possible without the collective effort, creativity, and commitment of those around me. Sarah and Brianna, in particular, have been instrumental contributors, providing valuable insight, encouragement, and support that allow me to bring ideas to life. I believe in the power of teamwork, and I am grateful to work alongside individuals who inspire collaboration, share their expertise, and help drive our continued success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to always be prepared for the unexpected. In the events industry, something may not always go exactly according to plan, and the key is not to focus on what went wrong, but to remain adaptable and find solutions. Being able to pivot, think quickly, and approach challenges with a positive and flexible mindset has been essential to my success. I have learned that preparation, resilience, and the ability to adjust in the moment are critical skills for delivering successful outcomes.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice I would give to young women entering the industry is to truly love what you do. When deciding on a career path, it is important to set aside outside expectations and focus on what genuinely brings you fulfillment, because you are the person who will wake up every day and dedicate your time and energy to that work. Finding a career that aligns with your passions, values, and strengths is essential. If you discover that something does not bring you joy or purpose, have the courage to make a change and pursue something that does. A fulfilling career begins with doing work that you truly love.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is balancing the demands of frequent travel with personal commitments, especially as a mother of two young boys who are active in sports and other activities. At the same time, this industry presents exciting opportunities through the continued advancement of technology. Finding and implementing the right tools to improve event organization, planning, and efficiency is essential to creating successful experiences. Embracing new technology while maintaining strong relationships and effective coordination remains a key focus as the industry continues to evolve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, dedication, and balance. I believe in being transparent, dependable, and staying true to my commitments while maintaining a healthy balance between my professional and personal responsibilities. As a mother of two young boys, I strive to lead by example and show them that with hard work, perseverance, and consistency, they can achieve the goals they set for themselves. I believe success comes from showing up every day, putting in the effort, and remaining committed to the things that matter most.
