01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My first corporate supervisor, Wilma Washington, who was a Navy officer, was quite influential in helping me shape my business acumen. She really helped me see the importance of being dependable and reliable, as well as staying on top of the needs of the organization, educating myself on the latest trends, and just staying abreast of what's happening in the market. She was my supervisor at the Urban League for about 5 or 6 years, and she was quite disciplined and really helped me become a better employee and business professional.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say that it's an open field, it's a wide open field, and it might be difficult to find a true niche within that because there's so many aspects. But I think that if you know yourself well and understand what you're trying to achieve or where you want to go, that you should give full attention to that and develop yourself with training and education. And just give your full 100% in pursuit of your goals and your dreams.
