Her Story

About Myra

Myra Guzman, M.Ed., is a bilingual educator, certified life coach, entrepreneur, and mental health professional dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve meaningful personal growth and transformation. As the Founder and CEO of Change180 LLC, she combines her expertise in education, counseling, and coaching to support clients in areas such as mental wellness, personal development, leadership, parenting, youth empowerment, and life transitions. With two master's degrees—one in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Digital Literacy and another in Clinical Mental Health Counseling—Myra brings a unique blend of educational and therapeutic knowledge to her work.

Prior to launching Change180, Myra spent several years as an educator, serving middle school students as a technology, coding, English, and digital literacy teacher. Throughout her teaching career, she became known for her ability to connect with young people, build trust, and create supportive environments where students felt heard and understood. Her lifelong passion for helping others began in childhood and continued to grow through her work in schools, churches, and community organizations, where she developed a reputation as a compassionate mentor, listener, and advocate.

Through Change180, Myra provides life coaching, educational consulting, workshops, leadership development programs, and community-based initiatives designed to foster resilience, emotional awareness, and lasting change. She works closely with youth, young adults, families, educators, and community members, integrating both faith-based and non-faith-based approaches to meet clients where they are. Active in her church as a Sunday school teacher and worship leader, Myra is passionate about increasing mental health awareness, breaking unhealthy generational cycles, and empowering others to discover their purpose. Looking ahead, she aspires to expand her impact through public speaking, transformational workshops, and the development of an academy that combines coaching, education, and consulting under one roof.

Ten minutes with Myra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to faith, perseverance, and a genuine desire to serve others. Throughout my career as an educator, counselor-in-training, and entrepreneur, I have learned that success is not about achieving perfection but about remaining committed to growth, learning from challenges, and continuing to move forward with purpose. My faith in God has been my foundation, providing guidance, strength, and resilience during difficult seasons. I am also grateful for the support of my family, mentors, and community, who have encouraged me along the way. Most importantly, I believe success comes from using my gifts to empower others, whether through education, leadership development, life coaching, or creating opportunities for people to reach their full potential. When you focus on serving others and making a positive impact, success naturally follows.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: "Bloom where you are planted, but never stop growing." Early in my career as an educator, I learned that every role, challenge, and opportunity has something valuable to teach us. Instead of constantly focusing on the next position or achievement, I learned to give my best wherever I was while continuing to develop my skills, knowledge, and character. That mindset has helped me transition into leadership, counseling, coaching, and entrepreneurship. It reminds me that success is not a destination it’s a journey of continuous growth, service, and becoming the person God has called me to be.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Believe in your ability to make a difference, even before you feel completely ready. Whether you are entering education, counseling, leadership, or entrepreneurship, there will always be opportunities that seem bigger than your experience. Don't let self doubt keep you from pursuing them. Invest in continuous learning, seek mentors who will challenge and encourage you, and build genuine relationships with others in your field. Be willing to start small, stay teachable, and remain true to your values. Most importantly, remember that your voice, experiences, and unique perspective have value. Lead with integrity, serve others well, and never underestimate the impact you can have on the lives of those around you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in education, coaching, and counseling is meeting the growing needs of individuals and families while ensuring services remain accessible and affordable. Many people need support with academic success, mental wellness, leadership development, and life transitions, yet barriers such as cost, time, and lack of resources often prevent them from receiving help.

At the same time, this creates a tremendous opportunity. Technology, virtual learning, and community based programs are making it possible to reach and serve more people than ever before. There is also a growing recognition that personal growth, emotional well-being, leadership skills, and lifelong learning are essential for success. This opens the door for professionals who are passionate about educating, empowering, and equipping others. I believe the greatest opportunity is to create innovative, people centered solutions that help individuals unlock their potential and build stronger families, workplaces, and communities.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Faith, integrity, compassion, service, and continuous growth are the values that guide both my work and personal life. My faith provides the foundation for how I lead, make decisions, and interact with others. Integrity is important to me because trust is built through honesty, consistency, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. I believe in treating people with compassion and respect, recognizing that everyone is facing challenges we may not see. Service is at the heart of what I do, whether I am teaching, coaching, counseling, or supporting my community. Finally, I value lifelong learning and personal growth, believing that we should always strive to become better versions of ourselves while helping others do the same. These values influence every aspect of my life and the impact I hope to leave on others.
