Her Story

About Myranda

My typical day can totally vary. I'm actually also an instructor, so I could either go from teaching in the morning, maybe 2 classes, 3 classes, really depends on my schedule. Then I clock into my work at Lululemon. I'm given time to respond to emails, communicate with potential partners, businesses, organizations who reach out. I do typically get a bunch of emails every day just regarding community events, things coming up with the brand, with what's happening with the company itself. Right now we're in a yoga-Pilates campaign, so my goal is to reach out to local fitness instructors, take a class with them, and meet them face-to-face. I'll take their class, give them a product from our store and company so they can have a chance to try the product itself, and then just know that we have a bridge to a relationship so they can always utilize us, or vice versa. I do serve time outside of the store, or I serve time inside the store. When I'm in store, I'm usually on the floor, serving guests, creating that environment where people have a great experience so they can come on and keep on shopping with us. I also plan a lot of events for the community and the store, and we've been having a lot of growth. Seeing the data from the growth of people and the growth of our store numbers regarding sales has been something that I am very proud about in my career.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Myranda

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my morals, and treating people how they want to be treated, and also knowing that I'm trusting myself that I'm in the right career, and believing in myself when the tide's low. That's something that's really driven me to continue and feel successful. And really just being a very big communicator. That's one of my strengths. I over-communicate sometimes, which can be annoying, but it's good to have, rather than no communication, especially for events.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Keep pushing. Stay true to yourself and your career and role, and find a career that makes you happy. A lot of advice I've received has been to just keep going, because there's gonna be times where things are rough, like sales are down, maybe I'm not getting the number of people I wanted, and you just have to keep going, knowing that you're happy in your role. I think how your experiences always shows when you're in your role.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say trust yourself and know that you are on the right path. Don't let anyone determine your goals for you. If you're driven to know yourself and know your worth as a person and employee, that will be more than enough to take you far in your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

For me, not challenges, but my opportunities, I do want to expand my outreach to more people. I want to take this brand, I'm working for Lululemon, to thousands of people and really elevate the experience and foster that environment for thousands of people. So my biggest opportunity is just to grow and expand my range of events. I would love to take it all over my area if I could. I really, truly want to expand the career. I want people to feel how they feel, but I want to take that to thousands of people.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity, honesty, and community are most important to me. I value relationship building, fostering a safe environment, building a safe space, and creating relationships with the client, the guest, my team, my managers, my peers, everyone. My deep values of connection are something that I value so much. I love creating and fostering relationships with people and creating safe space for people. I'm such a big connector. I love being the bridge for people, for businesses, brands, and seeing it all come together. If I know I'm serving the public and the community, and just the overall people, that's something that I feel fulfilled from. It fills my cup.
