Nada Abuzaid: Hello, my name is Nadda Bozaid. I'm a conjugation chemistry scientist advisor, and when I think about what it means to be an influential woman, it's not about having the loudest voice in the room or holding a particular title. It's all about using your experiences, knowledge, and courage to help others grow and succeed. For me, being influential means leading with authenticity, lifting others as you climb, and creating opportunities for those who may not yet see their own potential. Some of the most impactful moments in my career have come not from the individual achievement, no. It came from mentoring others, building meaningful connections and helping teams achieve more together than any one person could alone.

What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?

Nada Abuzaid: Don't wait until you feel completely ready. Greatness happens when you step outside your comfort zone. Say yes for opportunities that challenge you. Trust your abilities and remember that your unique perspective is your strength. Most importantly, don't be afraid to ask for support. Success is rarely a solo journey. Build your network, find mentors and sponsors, and never underestimate the power of lifting other women along the way. When women support women, we all rise. Thank you.

About Nada

Nada Abuzaid serves as a manager in the pharmaceuticals industry at Pfizer, where she has worked for over 12 years, with 10 years in her current department and role. Her career path began with four years of medical school in Africa, followed by a degree in pharmaceutical sciences from NCCU, from which she graduated in 2016, and an internship in clinical research at Duke. She joined Pfizer as her first professional position after also serving as a consultant for a startup during her education. At Pfizer, Nada has earned multiple credentials, including serving as a Yellow Belt coach, completing DMIAC training, becoming a Pfizer Human Performance Facilitator (PHP), pursuing her Green Belt, and obtaining a certification in AI and machine learning from the Stevens Institute of Technology. She leads the Pfizer Women Resource Group (PWR) both locally and globally, mentoring emerging leaders, and is an active member of the Healthcare Business Women Association (HPA) North Carolina chapter. Nada attributes her success to strong family support, particularly from her husband and late mother, as well as her professional network and managers who encouraged her growth.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nada

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first of all to family. My husband is very supportive. He is completely the opposite of male dominancy in my culture and supported me through my education. Family support is number one. My network as well, my managers at work were very supportive. All the beautiful women that I befriended passed resources. My PWR family and global board are awesome and supportive. My mom pushed me toward education and doing better.

While I'm proud of the various leadership opportunities I've had throughout my career, including serving as a leader within Pfizer's Women's Resource Group and the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association, I consider my greatest achievement to be the impact I've had on others through mentorship, collaboration, and helping teams achieve their goals. The recognition that means the most to me is seeing others grow, develop confidence, and succeed in their own careers.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice was a quote from a speaker at the 2025 HPA Annual FundEx: 'underestimate me on your own risk.' It blew me away because you need to know your value and that you can do more than you believe is your potential. If somebody has underestimated you, let them do it under their own risk.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

We can do it. Not only for women, but women coming from minorities. I went to an HBCU and know how hard it is. No matter what difficulties you go through and feel let down, don't stop trying. That's my mantra. Keep on doing it. Even if you don't reach it on time, it's gonna happen, just believe in it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge for women in general, especially in male-dominated work, is we have to go above and beyond to prove ourselves. As a woman of color, even more so. We have to fix our face and attitude to fit in and play the corporate game without losing authenticity. The biggest opportunity is the support from other women who have climbed the ladder to VP level; they support emerging leaders. Reach out to your network and upper management for advice and help.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity is very important, especially in corporate America. Keep your authenticity close to you as it eliminates burnout and attracts the right people. Knowing your value is also very important. A lot of women suffer from imposter syndrome, so surround yourself with the right people that support you and let you know your work is valued.
