Her Story

About Nadia

I have been in my field since 2014, with 12 years of experience. I'm an attorney at law and the owner and founder of Zorba PA, which is my law office that I started in 2022. Before that, I worked at other law firms. I'm originally from Greece where I was a lawyer, then I earned my master's degree in the UK and worked in the litigation department there. After meeting my husband in Miami, I came to the US and it was the third country where I started legal studies from scratch. I completed both a JD and an LLM in order to re-qualify here. I started my law firm after being married and having a kid, then had another kid, so everything happened at the same time - having a family and starting from scratch in a third country. I focus on family law and estate planning, anything that has to do with family protection, including divorces and estate planning. I have a strong focus on special needs planning because I have a special needs kid as well. I think I can help other families who are in the same boat and don't see the end of the tunnel or don't see light. Most of my clients are either parents who have kids with autism or ADHD, or who are neurodivergent, and they're going through a divorce or doing estate planning for them. My practice has been steadily growing, more than what I expected, because this niche area of people feel that they are my community and they come to me easier than to others.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To just do it, to just do any business. Just do it, because there is no other way, there is no better way than flexibility. Start and learn along the way. Life is like that. We just dive, and we just learn along the way.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I have a strong sense of fairness. Whenever I see something wrong, I want to change it. That's part of the Greek heritage - we always want to advocate, and we're always going to advocate for fairness. When we see something wrong, we want to change it, we just don't accept it. I think this strong sense of fairness and wanting to make a better place is what drove me to law. When somebody feels you, they can better advocate for you. There are a lot of things that women do that are not recognized. We are mostly focused on the kids. I'm there to say, hey, what is important? Setting up the next chapter of your life with your kid, your kid protection, your peace - that's what is important.
