Her Interview
Ten minutes with Nadiyah
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from my personal journey of being adopted, overcoming trauma, meeting my biological mother three years ago which helped me understand my purpose, my faith in God, and my three children who have been my driving force. I see potential in others and act as a cheerleader to help them succeed, pushing past imposter syndrome.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice was a Maya Angelou quote: the wise woman thinks twice and speaks only once. It taught me to add value when speaking, command respect, and not be the loudest in the room but thoughtful in delivery.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Own your seat at the table, be willing to ask hard questions and stand by decisions. Learn the business not just the product. Build relationships, find sponsors, don't wait for validation. Raise your hand for opportunities even if not fully ready. Treat people well as that's what they'll remember.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Technology is always changing and evolving with AI taking over. Staying on top of technology demands while ensuring solutions support the business in a fast-paced environment. As a woman in a male-dominated field, ensuring a seat at the table and having my voice heard without being diminished.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In personal life, family values. Professionally: integrity, accountability, treating people with respect, authenticity, transparency, ownership of successes and failures, inclusion, collaboration, growth and impact. Being kind and creating safe environments for others to speak up.
