Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to life lessons, for sure. I've been through a lot. A lot of negative things happened to me since I was a child, through my teenage years and the first stages of my adulthood. I let a lot of things cloud my thinking and my judgment, so I made a lot of unwise choices in my life. I did a lot of damage to not only myself but the people around me. Then one day, I just got tired of the way that things were going for me, and I wanted better. So I decided to take the steps that I needed in order for me to have a better way of life, to have healthier relationships, to pour into myself and love me. I'm still on that journey. I'm able to accept all of me and not just parts of me. I choose to forgive myself a lot quicker and give not only myself but other people grace. I've always had a heart for people; life just deterred me from the good parts of me. But now I'm here, and the biggest part of how I'm so successful and at peace and willing to help other people is that God made me that way. He wants me to be good to others and love on people, especially the ones that are hurting. He wants me to give them an extra dose of love.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are service to others, faith and spiritual guidance, forgiveness, and self-acceptance. I am deeply committed to investing in the wellbeing and empowerment of my community, and I strive to bring these principles into every interaction and decision I make.
