About Nailah
Nailah Hill serves as Head of Research at Calixy, a Web3 fintech startup based in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, which she has held for about a year and a half following her promotion from lead UX researcher, she works directly with C-suite executives on product roadmap strategy and oversees all research initiatives across the company. Her background includes six years as a UX researcher, during which she also advised as head of UX and product strategy at Duffel, an AI talent management system, and worked as a research executive in healthcare and pharmaceuticals at The Research Partnership. Nailah earned her Master's in Information Management Systems with a focus in UX research from Berkeley and studied cultural anthropology and consumer psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is passionate about advocating for users and has driven significant impact, including leading an onboarding flow redesign that reduced drop-off by 35 percent and contributed to growth reaching nearly 100,000 active users without paid advertising. Additionally, she developed a Python-based internal chatbot to analyze Web3 trends.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to be the best at whatever you want to do long-term. Put in everything you have and then some, and don't forget to reach back and bring people up with you.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Advocate for yourself and speak up about your ideas, especially in a male-dominated field like tech. Find other women you aspire to be like and reach out to them for guidance, as they are usually willing to help.
