Nancy Griffin is a seasoned professional with over 50 years of experience in counseling, education, and nonprofit leadership. She holds two Master’s degrees in Counselor Education and Secondary Education, and completed ABD coursework in Counselor Education at NC State University. Her extensive career has spanned direct service, consultation, and leadership roles across birth-to-adult education, health, and social services. In recognition of her dedicated service to the Dare County community, Nancy was honored in 2021 by the Dare County Board of Commissioners for her contributions to numerous organizations, including the Outer Banks Hotline, Dare County Schools, the Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County, and the Saving Lives Task Force.

Today, Nancy channels her expertise into her work as a freelance copywriter through NanCGriffin Communications. She specializes in crafting compelling marketing materials, including emails, blogs, e-newsletters, social media posts, case studies, and white papers, serving clients at the local, state, and national levels. A lifelong learner, she has earned multiple certifications through the American Writers and Artists Institute, complementing her academic training and enriching her ability to help clients achieve their communication goals. Nancy’s work is guided by her belief in the power of self-efficacy, growth mindset, and resilience, values she has championed throughout her career.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Nancy is passionate about supporting those on the margins of society, including individuals without stable housing, people with disabilities, and survivors of early childhood trauma. She is an active volunteer with organizations such as Outer Banks Room in the Inn and the Laura Lake Music Society, and she is currently developing a platform called Life After Stroke to provide resources and inspiration for stroke survivors. A dedicated advocate, lifelong learner, and “wounded healer,” Nancy draws on her personal experiences and empathy to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
