Nancy Jones

Nancy Jones is a retired high school teacher with over four decades of experience in education, having dedicated 41 years to Jurupa Unified Schools in Riverside, California. Specializing in dance and physical education, she led an advanced dance program that helped numerous students earn scholarships to the University of California, Riverside. Throughout her career, Nancy was recognized multiple times as Teacher of the Year, an honor reflecting the respect and admiration of her students and colleagues alike.

A lifelong advocate for accountability, discipline, and independent thinking, Nancy emphasized active participation and critical thinking in her classroom. She believed students must understand the consequences of their actions and be prepared for real life, college, and the workforce. Known for her commitment to one-on-one student engagement, she fostered a learning environment that balanced high academic standards with personal responsibility, ensuring that students not only excelled academically but also grew as individuals.

Since retiring, Nancy continues to lead a purposeful and active life. She maintains her love for dance and fitness, keeps intellectually engaged through reading, and stays connected with her former students. Passionate about education reform and community support, she dedicates time to mentoring students in need and contributing to charitable causes, particularly those involving animals. Even in retirement, Nancy embodies resilience, independence, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.
