About Nancy

Nancy Ketzler serves as Client Manager for the Power of Attorney team at Alight Solutions, formerly Hewitt Associates, where she has spent 20 years. In this role, she oversees a book of over 100 clients, with responsibility for half of them, ensuring proper processing of power of attorney documents, legal guardianship documents, and representative of estate documents. With approximately two years in management, Nancy previously worked in aviation as a Scheduling Manager for pilots at Skyway Airlines in Wisconsin, where she participated in a negotiating team for a pilot contract in 2001. She holds a master's degree in history and is currently pursuing a paralegal degree, supported by her company to attend school full-time while working. Nancy is a member of the League of Women Voters and attributes her success to persistence, describing herself as a workhorse who keeps going despite setbacks. She values the career advice of taking care of people around her by criticizing in private and praising publicly, while encouraging others through engagement and listening to new ideas.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nancy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence. Some people would liken me to a workhorse. I keep going, and keep going, and there are many times when I fail, or don't hit it exactly right, and you go back to it, and you find ways to make it work, or to correct the error, so just be persistent.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received was back in 2000 when I was first a manager: take care of the people around you. Criticize in private, praise publicly. Also look for ways to encourage others to do their best by engaging and listening to new ideas and finding ways to implement them.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

A couple of things that I think are applicable for any industry: take care of the people around you. Criticize in private, praise publicly. And also just look for ways to encourage others to do their best. So engaging and listening to new ideas, finding ways to implement, just always encourage around you.
