Her Interview
Ten minutes with Nancy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to doing the right thing for my clients and going beyond basic bookkeeping to provide meaningful financial insight. I focus on understanding what business owners need, helping them identify opportunities to improve their businesses, and being available to support them through their questions and challenges. My commitment to integrity, service, and continuous learning has helped shape the way I work with clients.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most valuable advice I have received is to look beyond the basic bookkeeping function and provide business owners with insight into what their financial information means and how they can use it to improve their businesses. I also believe strongly in doing the right thing consistently and being there for clients every step of the way.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to find someone who has already accomplished what they hope to achieve and learn from that person. Strong mentorship can help you understand what to do, what to avoid, and how to navigate challenges. I would also encourage entrepreneurs to build systems wherever possible, because having effective systems creates consistency and makes it easier to grow. Entrepreneurship can be a rollercoaster, so you have to be prepared for the sacrifices that come with it, commit fully to your goals, and, most importantly, do not quit.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is one of the most important values I bring to both my work and personal life. I believe in doing what is best for the client rather than putting my own interests first. I want to partner with businesses and genuinely help them grow. Honesty, empathy, and compassion are also foundational to the way I build relationships and serve my clients.
