About Nancy
I'm a public speaker dedicated to raising awareness and prevention around sexual abuse. As a survivor myself, I understand how challenging it is to come forward and heal from trauma. My mission is to help others give themselves grace and space during their healing journey, and to educate communities about this important but often taboo subject. I primarily work with law enforcement agencies and nonprofits, teaching them how to watch for predators and how to deal with survivors in a way that's empathetic rather than judgmental. One of my biggest challenges is that the school system isn't as open to letting me speak to students about awareness and prevention as I would like, but I remain committed to pursuing this dream and staying sincere to who I am and what I want to accomplish.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think just do it. Like, stay at it. Don't give up. You know, keep pursuing your dreams. And, be sincere to who you are and to what you want to accomplish.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge I face right now is that sexual abuse is a very taboo subject, and finding people that are willing to let me talk about the awareness and the prevention surrounding it is kind of challenging. I'm mostly aiming for law enforcement agencies and nonprofits, because the school system isn't as open to letting me speak to students for the awareness and prevention side of it as I would like. As for opportunities, I would love to speak to law enforcement individuals about how to watch for predators and how to deal with survivors in a way that's not degrading to them, going in with empathy and not judgment.
