Her Story

About Nancy

Nancy Pierre is an attorney who has practiced law since 1994. She began her career as a prosecutor before moving into personal injury work, a focus she has maintained throughout much of her professional life. She currently works with Nationwide on personal injury cases and has also handled property damage matters. Beyond her legal practice, Nancy is a property investor and landlord who has built and remodeled houses, skills she developed in part from her father, a civil engineer. She is a member of the Bar Association. Nancy attributes her success to her education and the strong work ethic instilled by her parents, who taught her self-reliance and the belief that she could achieve anything she set her mind to. She is passionate about encouraging women to pursue real estate investing, recommending house hacking strategies such as purchasing a duplex to rent out part of the property or operating an Airbnb to generate seed money.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nancy

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my education and the strong work ethic instilled in me by my parents. They taught me that I could do anything I put my mind to, and that self-reliance has been invaluable throughout my career in both law and real estate.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Especially for women, I want to inspire them to get involved in real estate. The best way to start is house hacking, whether you buy a duplex and rent part of it out to build income, or do an Airbnb. It's all about getting that seed money so you can move forward, instead of just relying on a 401K or pension.
