Nancy Silverberg

Nancy Silverberg practiced dermatology in Newport Beach, California, for over 35 years before retiring a couple of years ago. During her career, she focused on skincare science, skin disease, surgical dermatology including Mohs surgery, and anti-aging treatments, splitting her time between medical dermatology and cosmetic concerns. She earned her undergraduate education at Cornell University in New York, attended medical school in St. Louis, completed a residency in internal medicine, and then pursued a residency in dermatology at the University of California, Irvine. Silverberg continues to serve as an associate clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, Irvine, and maintains her status as a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, where she participates in speaking engagements. She authored the book Skin Deep: A Dermatologist's Guide to the Science of Skincare to help consumers identify effective ingredients backed by scientific data rather than unsubstantiated claims. In addition to her professional work, she is deeply involved in philanthropic efforts related to diabetes through the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association and the Hoag Foundation's diabetes center in Newport Beach.
