Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of formal education, technical training, and continuous self-learning. Earning my BA in Economics provided a strong analytical foundation, while my Associate degree in IT equipped me with essential technical skills. Beyond that, I’ve invested in ongoing learning—particularly in Power BI and data visualization—which has helped me distinguish myself and advance in roles, including my work at MARTA.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is: It is best for you to wait on others rather than others wait on you.

This advice has kept me focused and ahead of the game every single time. People viewed me as diligent, reliable and trustworthy.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Working without clarity on where you want to go can make it feel like you’re not truly progressing. At the same time, priorities can change, and it’s important to pause, reassess, and realign your plan when they do.

My advice is to be clear about where you want to be, create a focused plan to get there, and stay committed to it. I lead with passion and purpose, and I bring that same intentionality into my work every day.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is balancing growth with time. As I transition from an individual contributor to a lead role, I’m learning to shift from executing tasks to guiding strategy and supporting others. At the same time, managing work and personal responsibilities can make it difficult to dedicate additional time to networking and professional development. My main challenge is creating the space to grow intentionally while navigating a full schedule.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I lead with passion and purpose in both my personal and professional life. I stay clear on my goals and create focused plans to achieve them.
