Her Story
About Natalia
I've been in sales and business for 5 years now, and it's been a journey full of challenges that have helped me develop into the person I am today. I was one of the first two employees to start my company, so I've been there from the get-go, and everyone is technically under my team in some way, shape, or form. As the assistant manager, I lead a team of about 30 employees in our Maitland, Florida location. My typical day starts at 8:30 AM with management meetings focused on numbers and accountability, asking ourselves if we're truly living up to being leaders in the industry. Then I spend my time having conversations with people, checking in not just on numbers but on mindset, goals, and making sure everyone has a plan. Being in sales takes a lot of resilience and mental toughness, so I focus on helping people refocus on their goals and have the best day possible. From noon to 2 PM, I conduct preliminary interviews because we're always looking to hire talent in the Orlando area. After that, I visit members on the sales team to bring them energy, maybe a coffee or water, and continue to check in to make sure company morale is strong and people feel seen and rewarded for the work they're doing. My day typically ends at 7 PM. Before this career, I graduated from Seminole High School in 2020 from a Health Academy program with EMS and EKG technician certifications, and I completed one year of nursing school at AdventHealth. But during the pandemic, everything was online and it created a lot of anxiety for me because I've never been good at learning in a solo setting - I really enjoy a team environment. When I applied for summer positions after my first year, I got three interviews and was selected for all three. I chose the company I'm still with today because they offered an opportunity to grow, develop, and make money. I found great mentors and leaders who modeled the right behaviors, and that's what sparked my interest in the business world.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my ability to take feedback. I think that's been crucial in helping me grow and develop in my career. I also believe the network I've built has been instrumental - I'm only in my twenties and I have a lot of great people in my phone, and I think that's the reason why I'm gonna continue to be successful, because I just got myself around the right people at the right time.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is that if you work hard enough or long enough, you can achieve anything. This has really stuck with me and drives how I approach my work every day.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would give two main pieces of advice to women entering my industry. First, get comfortable being uncomfortable. This is something I learned early on when I started, and it just means that challenging yourself is gonna be uncomfortable, learning something new is gonna be uncomfortable, and you have to get comfortable with that process. Second, you're not too much. Find your strengths, find how your personality and who you are can become your strengths in your workplace. Don't try to diminish yourself - embrace what makes you unique and use it to your advantage.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There's always gonna be that possibility for burnout in my field, simply because we work extremely hard, and we work extremely hard with our minds. I think if we don't stay focused on our goals and the reasons why we're working so extremely hard, it can get very easy to get burnt out. Another challenge is making sure that you have a strong sense of self and identity, because anytime you're doing sales and you're facing rejection, that can get a little personal, and of course it shouldn't because it's not personal. But I think as humans, and especially as women in sales, we can get very emotional. It's very important to have a strong sense of identity and knowing who you are and why you're doing what you're doing, so you can always refocus. You don't have to let other people's definition or opinions of you affect you - they don't know me, right?
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My faith is very important to me in both my work and my personal life. I'm a big believer in Jesus Christ, and I think that's the reason why I've been put in the places that I am, and that's why I want to take advantage of the opportunities that I do. You know, not everybody gets to have influence over 30 young adults, and I think it's very important to make sure that I take that responsibility and that opportunity seriously. Beyond my faith, I would say my core values are integrity, genuineness, and loyalty. I also value spending time with family - they're the reason why I've challenged myself to become an entrepreneur. Sundays are for church, can't miss it.
