Natalia Lax is a producer with 14 years of experience in the entertainment, film, commercial, and digital media production industry. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Film Production from California State University, Northridge in 2011. Early in her academic career, she completed an internship with a production company during her sophomore year of college, which helped shape her career path and deepen her passion for production and storytelling. Although she had always been interested in the arts, her fascination with how motion pictures are created during high school ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in entertainment production. Throughout her career, she has remained focused on both professional excellence and personal growth, and she is most proud of the progress she has made in developing her leadership skills and production expertise.

Natalia began her career in 2012 at Lionsgate, where she worked as an assistant before advancing into a production coordinator role supporting home entertainment and marketing production projects. She later joined a small production company in El Segundo as an in-house production coordinator for original programming in the automotive content space, gaining valuable experience managing creative workflows, logistics, and post-production delivery. In 2018, she made the bold decision to transition into the independent contractor and freelance production world, where she has since built a strong portfolio working on commercials, music videos, and digital content for platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. For the past two and a half years, she has worked primarily as a producer specializing in short-form content, commercial production, and digital media, focusing on managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and overseeing all operational and strategic aspects of production.

Natalia is known for her collaborative leadership style, which she describes as guiding people in the right direction with a gentle push. She is passionate about creating inclusive production environments and intentionally prioritizes hiring diverse crew members across race, ethnicity, and gender to provide opportunities for underrepresented talent in the industry. Outside of her work, she enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, reading, and cooking. Cooking and entertaining are especially meaningful to her, as she considers them her love language and a way to connect with others. Natalia continues to advance her career by delivering high-quality content while building strong professional relationships across the entertainment and media industry.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a lot of tenacity and passion, for sure. Knowing that this is my calling and committing to it has been huge. It's more than just working in a fun profession - there's something about being able to give opportunities to people of various diverse backgrounds that may not often have a chance. I try to focus on that, hiring crew of different races, ethnicities, genders, you name it. I try to be as inclusive as possible in that regard.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is to keep going and keep pushing. If you want to succeed, you have to keep chasing it. And personally, the advice that has meant the most to me is to just be kind to others, honestly.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to keep pushing forward and remain resilient. Stay focused on your goals, continue learning, and don’t let obstacles or challenges discourage you from pursuing success. Stay confident in your abilities and keep moving ahead despite any barriers you may face.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now are the economic landscape and the ever-changing nature of entertainment. We're seeing productions leaving and maybe going more abroad, and lately we've experienced a lack of the robustness of entertainment, especially here in LA where I live. Beyond that, I think we need to include more diverse film sets, really. It has evolved and gotten a lot better over the last few years, but we definitely need more of it, for sure.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Compassion and empathy are the values that are most important to me. Everyone has their own history and background and makeup, and lately, in the last few years, that's something I've been focusing on - just being more understanding of people, for sure.
