Her Interview

Ten minutes with Natalie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my community. My family is a huge pillar in my life. They've got me through everything. My friends, and then also just being confident and feeling like nothing is I can do anything I put my mind to. And that's because of the women around me, that's because of my parents, and you know, I also try to surround myself with positive podcasts, and just things that will always lift me up, and making sure that I do feel confident in any room I'm in, no matter if I'm the only Black person there, or even the only woman there.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just go for it. Don't wait till things seem perfect, just go for it as you are, but also have the right people around you. Make sure you're networking, and I always say, like, intentional networking is different than just the term networking. Like, actually create relationships with people, remember people's birthdays, and have coffee chats, and support them through their endeavors, and surround yourself with women or people who will build you up at all times, and that will change your trajectory more than any resume could.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Community is so important to me. That's more so personally, which is why I also built that community, just whether you're going through something devastating, like a loss of a loved one, or something just exciting, like having a baby, I think it's so important to have community. And then, I'll also say just integrity is extremely important to me. Since I'm in sales, you know, I transparently don't even like selling things, but I do like helping. So just leading with integrity and understanding what is the actual problem, how can I actually help it, and forget everything else, let's just focus on that.
