Her Story
About Natalie
My background is originally in accounting, and after moving to Florida, I was in the medical field, but then recently went back into the accounts receivable role. I started off as a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association about 11 years ago after losing my grandmother to dementia in 2015. I was recently asked to join as a staff partner in September. A typical day for me is a lot of networking, meeting with constituents, whether it be to have them create a walk team, or dealing with bigger company corporations, and inspiring them to become sponsors to create funding for the Alzheimer's Association. The fact that I've been able to volunteer and then step into a role and work where my passion is has been my greatest achievement, and I'm just hoping that I'm making her proud. I became an advocate and was able to go to Tallahassee and speak with legislation during their period to have bills passed in our favor.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
You know, it's great to have credibility and everything, but when you see it from an outside perspective, and just kind of giving hope and encouragement to other women, knowing that this is a platform for inspiration and just showcasing women and what they do - you can feel personally like you're the most average person, but when someone else is doing the same thing, you're like, I can do that too. I can be that person. To see someone else be able to spotlight you and showcase you, I think it gives a lot of encouragement to other women. I'm a mother of four, and I spend time with my family - we have family dinners on Sundays, at least once a month, because everybody's busy doing their thing, but we make a point to get together. I stay healthy, whether it's mentally or physically, making sure that I have that overall balance - I can't pour from an empty cup, so I constantly have to ensure that I am on the up and up. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week in the morning, and meet with a therapist at least once a month to make sure that my mental clarity is on the up and up. Life happens, and it takes a toll.
