Her Story
About Natalie
I've been with In-N-Out for 13 years, starting in the restaurants and working my way up through management. I went through In-N-Out University, which is our own university training for development of managers in the stores. In 2021, I stepped down from store management but stayed part-time with the company to maintain my longevity. During that time, I worked full-time at a different company learning account management skills and dealing with supply chain, shipping, and receiving products. It was a tough year with a lot of hours, but it helped me come back to the table and present better skills to get a more efficient role in what I wanted. After seeing all the technology in my store experience, I wanted to understand how it all worked, which led me to pursue a role in the IT department. I moved into an IT project coordinator role and have been advancing in project management since then. I'm now a senior IT project manager approaching 4 years in IT, currently leading an Oracle supply chain implementation for all of our back-end business processes. I recently received my PMP certification and my CAPM certification in project management. I'm working on being promoted to a program level manager by the end of this year, and I'm hoping one day to run my own PMO.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Natalie
01What do you attribute your success to?
Really the people around me, and the people that have been in my corner and helped me succeed. But obviously being a people-first leader, training the people around you so that they can ultimately be more helpful to you in the long term. So, being kind and caring, showing up with a smile every day is really important to In-N-Out.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's not easy, and it's challenging, but it's worthwhile, and it is gratifying at the end of the day to be able to work with a team that you trust and knows has your back, and will be able to support each other through the tough days, but also succeed together in the really great days.
