Her Story

About Natalie

Natalie Bowers serves as the Assistant Director of Enrollment Strategy at Sinclair College in Dayton. In this role, she oversees paid media, campaigns, social media, brand initiatives, accessibility efforts, and vendor management, with the core aim of ensuring community members recognize Sinclair as an accessible opportunity. Bowers began her higher education career in 2019 after working in recruitment for a nonprofit and joining Sinclair as an admissions counselor. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she stepped into social media and video production to support students, which led to a social media role and eventual promotion to Assistant Director of Marketing within the Enrollment Strategy Office. She holds a bachelor's degree in organizational communications from Ohio University and earned a management specialist certificate through Sinclair's Organizational Development Program. Bowers is a member of the NCMPR and serves on the marketing program advisory committee for Amcora Education as well as the Strategic Plan Steering Committee for her city. Outside her professional work, she has volunteered with Paw Patrol Dayton dog rescue for six years, handling social media, adoption applications, events, and fostering.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Natalie

01What do you attribute your success to?

Even if someone doesn't hold the door open for you or build the door, you can build your own and create opportunities for yourself. I got three internships in college by asking when there were no postings, just seeing a need and offering to help for free.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Whatever you want, just ask for it. The worst thing that can happen is they're gonna say no. And just because one person says no doesn't mean that the next one will. Everything can start from that first yes. Not being afraid or even if you're nervous or scared, even if you get denied, just keep persevering and pushing through.
