About Nattaly

Nattaly Sanchez serves as co-founder of Yefikian Languages, a school originally established in Argentina that delivers online language instruction to learners throughout Latin America and the United States. She brings more than 20 years of experience to her role, holding a master's degree in TESOL, a bachelor's degree in Linguistics, a master's degree in Translation, and additional certifications. In her daily work, Sanchez oversees academic procedures, supervises and trains teachers, develops programs for companies and foundations, and teaches at a community college in the evenings as well as at the Rosale Rentu community center for immigrants. She also volunteers with the Catizo Education Foundation, where she manages social media and creates English-learning content for Spanish speakers through Yes You Can Languages. Sanchez attributes her success to hard work and determination, having left Colombia at a young age to travel and teach students from diverse backgrounds around the world. She values honesty and justice in her personal life and responsibility and resilience in her professional life. Among the advice she shares is the importance of building relationships with people from other countries, as one professor once told her that it is often not who you are but who you know that opens doors.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Prepare themselves by studying, taking as many certificates and courses as possible, observe other teachers teaching because experience from others teaches more than anything, and build strong relationships with fellow teachers.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The use of AI from students to improve their writing skills is a challenge for teachers.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In personal life: honesty and justice. At work: responsibility and resilience.
