About Navya

Navya Ramakrishnan is a Forward Deployed Engineer specializing in applied artificial intelligence, with a focus on bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and human-centered solutions. A graduate of Harvard University, she completed both her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a concurrent Master of Science in Computer Science through Harvard’s accelerated program. Her academic interests span machine learning, human-computer interaction, computer graphics, neuroscience, and psychology, reflecting her passion for understanding how technology can better serve people.

Throughout her time at Harvard, Navya distinguished herself as both a researcher and educator. She served as Director and Teaching Fellow for the Harvard Undergraduate Machine Intelligence Community’s Future of Intelligence Fellowship, where she led instruction on topics including neural networks, computer vision, large language models, diffusion models, and reinforcement learning. Her research experience includes developing AI-driven approaches for biomedical knowledge systems at Harvard’s Computer Science Department and the Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute. She also gained industry experience through roles at Amazon Web Services, where she worked on LLM-powered solutions, and as a founding software engineer for Global Impact Assessment, an AI-driven impact analytics platform.

Navya’s accomplishments have earned national and international recognition. As a Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar and International Science and Engineering Fair award recipient, she was honored for innovative research in machine learning and healthcare technologies, including projects focused on epilepsy prediction and assistive technologies for individuals with neuromuscular disorders. She has also been recognized with the Google Generation Scholarship for her leadership in computer science and AI education. Beyond her technical work, Navya is deeply committed to service, volunteering through organizations such as CityStep, where she teaches dance to elementary school students, and the Art of Living Foundation. She credits her success to a lifelong curiosity, a passion for learning, and a desire to create technology that improves people's lives.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is essentially being able to completely focus on the goal that you have. There's lots of noise. There's a lot of people who may question your journey, question your path, but it's you who makes your path. The advice I received from a career advisor in college was there's a lot of people who will define a path or project a path upon you, but it's you who get to decide at the end of the day.
