Her Interview
Ten minutes with Nayeli
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my dad. He taught me since I was little that not everything is easy, and that not everybody's gonna give you everything on your hands. That you have to fight for everything. The only person that was gonna take me somewhere was me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from one of my VPs on the solar side. He said that I was somebody that never stopped, and he believed in me that I will never stop growing and learning. That I'm somebody that can feed down and listen, always open to learn different stuff, and that I was gonna be successful.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
We can do all the work. Even though they say that it's for men, like on the operation side, we all can do it. If you learn it, if you want it, go for it. You can do it. There's nothing different that we can learn from them. Our mentality is the same.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenges is to be a woman because it's male dominant. Opportunities now that a lot of people see women as well and give opportunity to women because they're looking into what a woman can do as well. Men are changing their mentality that that field is only for men.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and being present. To be there when somebody needs me. Honesty will take you everywhere. To be honest and own what you are doing.
