Her Story
About Ndeye
Ndeye Gueye has worked in education since 2010. She began her career at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, where she created French language and cultural activities for sophomore and freshman students. Gueye then transitioned to elementary and middle school education, teaching physical education and health as well as French to students from pre-K through middle school. In 2017, she was nominated as a language and culture teacher leader in her school. She advanced to assistant principal in 2023 and was promoted to principal at St. Louis Language Immersion School in Saint Louis, Missouri. Gueye is a member of the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS), which provided leadership training, and she is completing her master's degree. Her expertise includes language and cultural activities, physical education and health, French language instruction, student advocacy, and supporting children's cognitive skills and social-emotional development.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Balance is a myth in leadership. Stay grounded, laser focus, self-reflect, prioritize, and keep going. As a woman it's easy to be overlooked or underestimated but we should not let that stop us.
