About Neda
Neda Mahmoudi is Principal Scientist for Process Development at ReCode Therapeutics, where she has worked for over five years. In this role, she contributes to process development for therapeutics addressing rare diseases such as cystic fibrosis and PCD, as well as advancing gene editing technologies. Originally from Iran, she pursued studies in material engineering there before focusing on nanotechnology and earning her PhD in Chemical Engineering. Her career path began with over two years at SurfTec, a polymeric company where she invented products including ski waxes. She then joined X-Therma, working on formulation and process development for organ preservation solutions. Subsequently, as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of a spin-off company, she developed and scaled eco-friendly, PFAS-free winter sport lubricants such as ski waxes and chain lubricants, driven by her interest in creating meaningful, environmentally beneficial innovations.
