Her Story
About Nedra
I have over 20 plus years of experience in the administrative space, and my last corporate job was for a major media company as a senior executive assistant. I was in that space of planning and coordinating while I was also speaking as a speaker. Around a year before 2014, women just started reaching out to me asking me to mentor them, asking could I help guide them and give them advice in different areas. I wanted to ensure I was giving them excellence in helping them navigate, plan, and mentoring them. A mentor is someone who has that excellence and shares it with an individual coming up, while coaching is different, helping them achieve their goals. So I went through a coaching program because I wanted to help them and ensure I was giving them excellence. They were watching my life and wanted to know how I navigated, so what I already possessed is what drew them to me. That's how I ended up in the coaching and mentoring space. Today, I have Hope Fulfilled Life Coaching, and I lead a nonprofit organization alongside my husband that we've had for the past 20 years. We have leaders under us, and there's a lot of mentoring and leadership development, coaching and training them in their skills, helping them identify areas of excellence and then cultivate that space. I work with everyday people who are wanting to cultivate and develop personal excellence, and more specifically, women. The past several years, I've been pouring into young ladies and am about to go to one of the local high schools to help in their mentorship group.

Ten minutes with Nedra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people who saw excellence within me before I ever saw it within myself. They spoke life into me and believed in me before I believed in myself. I learned not to allow my past to dictate my present or future. Every decision I’ve made has either led me closer to or farther from what I desire. I chose to believe in myself, cultivate my excellence, and share my gift with others. Time is infinite, but the time we’ve been given is not. As I make every day count, it fuels my success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would definitely advise them, one, first, to believe that you can do it. Then, fine-tune the area of your excellence. What is it that you just have a knack for, and even just an innate ability? Develop it, cultivate it, use it, and then share it.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I believe one of the greatest challenges in my field is the perception that there are too many speakers, coaches, and mentors to truly make an impact. Always remember—your message, your methods, and your excellence are unlike anyone else’s. Show up in excellence and let your light shine!
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value integrity, excellence, intentionality, and stewardship. I believe in showing up prepared, walking in purpose, and empowering others to grow in identity, confidence, and execution. These core values are extremely important to me personally and professionally.
