Her Story

About Neema

I am a logistics and operations leader with a strong background in supply chain management, team leadership, and customer experience, currently serving as Director of Logistics at Brandon Blackwood NYC, a role I have held since January 2021, where I lead logistics operations, manage supply chain processes, and oversee team performance to support the brand's growth and operational efficiency in Brooklyn, New York.

Prior to this role, I served as Client Relationship Manager at WTHN for nearly one year, where I managed B2B and B2C client relationships, and as Senior Studio Ambassador for five months, where I supported client engagement and studio operations. I also spent over two years at SoulCycle Inc. in progressively responsible roles, including Facilities and Operations Manager for nine months, where I managed facilities and operations, and In Studio Customer Service Lead for over a year and a half, where I led customer service teams and supported studio operations.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Purchase College, SUNY, and an Advanced Regents Diploma from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School.

Across my career in logistics, operations, and customer experience, my work has been driven by a commitment to operational excellence, team development, and creating seamless experiences for customers and clients. Whether I am leading logistics for a fashion brand, managing facilities and operations, or building client relationships, I bring a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills, and a dedication to delivering results that support organizational growth and success. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue advancing logistics and operations at Brandon Blackwood NYC.

Ten minutes with Neema

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my mother's incredible work ethic and the discipline I learned from my professional dance training in ballet and modern dance growing up in New York City. My mom has always inspired me with her high energy and dedication, providing a beautiful life for our family. The competitive arts environment taught me to show up on time, be presentable, and maintain discipline, which together make me feel unstoppable in facing any challenge.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice is to not burn any bridges. No matter the vendor, person, or software provider, always leave on a high note and keep great relationships because you never know when they might come up again or when you'll need them.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

We are capable of doing anything we put our minds to. Do not feel intimidated by a room full of men, especially as a woman of color in operations. Be confident, let your work speak for itself, and remember you are worthy of achieving your dreams.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is that tech and software are becoming oversaturated, especially with AI and automation tools. Vetting different software for OMS, pre-order management, and loyalty programs is overwhelming because there are so many options and everyone is trying to get into e-comm and D2C.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Transparency and honesty are most important to me. Being upfront makes things easier and correlates with efficiency. I value real-time updates from my team without fear, and apply the same in personal life with friends and family to stay on the same page.
