Her Interview
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from creativity, strategic thinking, and the ability to simplify complex ideas. Through CBA Media Group® and ZLIBS®, I’ve learned that consistent communication, innovation, and disciplined execution are the keys to building trust and driving impact. As a board member of Council Holdings & Trust LLC, I help to shape the company’s identity, messaging, and market positioning across its technology and innovation portfolio. I am also Chairwoman of The Council & Lorick Foundation, guiding its mission-driven programs, community impact initiatives, and public communications. My work bridges enterprise strategy with purpose-driven leadership, ensuring both organizations operate with clarity, credibility, and long-term vision.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received comes from the incredible influencers who have shaped my journey. Paula Scher, a renowned designer at Pentagram who created the Citi Bank logo and their brand identity, inspired me with her ability to blend creativity and strategy, and her story lit a fire under me to pursue excellence. Oprah's achievements and impact have been a constant source of inspiration, as have the journalists who have shaped the industry. Each of these voices has reminded me to embrace creativity, persistence, and authenticity in everything I do. Additionally, consistent communication, innovation, and disciplined execution are the keys to building trust and driving impact.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to build their skills boldly and never wait for permission to start. Women who excel put themselves in environments where ideas flow, protect their concepts, surround themselves with people who support their vision, and embrace originality in everything they do. Confidence will set you apart in this industry.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The rise of AI, digital identity concerns, and fast-moving content trends are reshaping communications. ZLIBS® is positioned to solve emerging cybersecurity identity challenges such as ATO and Harvest Now Decrypt Later. CBA Media Group® helps brands stay human and relevant in a digital-first landscape. Those who adapt quickly will lead.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are rooted in creativity, discipline, and a sense of stewardship. Gardening, for example, has instilled in me responsibility and patience, teaching me the importance of timing and cultivation, principles I apply not only in my personal pursuits but also in my professional growth. also cherish the time spent working alongside my daughters, Tanizia Council and Talanie Council, as we continue building and developing the CBA Media Spotlight App. What makes this journey especially meaningful is that we experienced college together, each pursuing our own creative and professional disciplines at Full Sail University and earning our undergraduate degrees within the same academic year—my degree in Media Communications, Talanie’s in Graphic Design, and Tanizia’s in Entertainment Business.
Today, those individual disciplines come together within CBA Media Group®. Tanizia and Talanie help spearhead the continued development of the CBA Media Spotlight App while also leading the creative direction and development of ATL-ANIME™ and CBA Crime Files, our original in-app content series. Talanie brings her graphic design background into the visual identity and creative development of our projects, while Tanizia oversees the music publishing arm of CBA Media Group® helping guide the business, publishing, and development of our music catalog. Watching our education evolve into a shared body of work has made building this enterprise together one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. Producing music also remains one of my greatest passions, providing balance and inspiration while allowing me to stay connected to the creative foundation that continues to influence every aspect of my life and work.
