About Neha

Neha Tiwari is an Electrical Engineering student at Iowa State University recognized with the Dean’s Award for International Student Excellence and International Merit Scholarships. She brings strong hands-on experience in industrial automation, process control, and functional safety, having completed three internships with Bayer Crop Science across multiple locations.

Her technical background spans both real-world industrial systems and core electrical/computer engineering fundamentals. While her industry experience centers around control systems, automation, and plant operations, her academic work includes projects in embedded systems, C/C++ programming, and digital design, along with completion of focus areas in VLSI and Control Systems. This combination allows her to bridge low-level hardware/software design with large-scale system implementation, giving her a versatile engineering perspective and a strong ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Beyond technical experience, Neha has demonstrated significant leadership, teaching, and mentorship. She serves as a Peer Mentor for incoming Transfer Students and has previously worked as a Peer Mentor for Students in Undeclared Engineering, an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for General Engineering Chemistry, a WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) Supplemental Instruction Leader. She continues her involvement with WiSE as an incoming Student Role Model (K–12 certified), supporting outreach and engineering engagement initiatives. She has also held the role of Industry Relations Chair for IEEE at Iowa State.

Neha has shown strong leadership and athletic excellence as Vice President and President of the Iowa State Badminton Club, leading the organization for two years and winning multiple tournaments across the Midwest. She was also selected for the 2023 Spaceflight Operations Workshop and was involved with the M21 CyLaunch Payload Team.

Outside of academics and engineering, she brings a strong mindset of discipline, resilience, and global engagement. She has completed major endurance events including the Greater St. Louis Full Marathon and the Muscatine Triathlon, and has contributed to international sustainability efforts in Costa Rica through a Plastic-Free Planet initiative. She is also a member of the Marine Technology Society, reflecting her interest in broader and emerging engineering applications.

Overall, Neha brings a powerful combination of hands-on industry experience, strong engineering fundamentals, leadership, and the ability to rapidly learn and adapt across domains, making her a well-rounded engineer.
