About Nia
Nia Scott founded Stimulate the World three years ago while attending high school at Gateway College Preparatory. What began as a project cleaning and organizing LEGO kits grew into a nonprofit organization after she learned of a school in Kenya, Africa, that had opened a computer lab and needed resources to teach coding. She shipped materials to the school, developed a STEM curriculum, and established a robotics competition in which teachers selected 20 students to learn robot building and STEM principles. Passionate about robotics since her youth, Nia has continued expanding the initiative to promote STEM education. She is currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University with an anticipated graduation in 2030. Nia is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers and a FIRST alumni, and she received the 2025 World Changer Award for her contributions.
