Her Story
About Nicole
Nicole Bennett serves as a transformation specialist at MGT Consulting. She began this role in July and works side-by-side with principals and district leadership to support schools, primarily those in turnaround or transformation status, while also helping others avoid that designation. Prior to joining MGT, she spent four years as regional assistant superintendent with Polk County Schools, where she focused on transformation and turnaround schools. Bennett's path into education was unconventional, as her degree is in mass communications program and production. She started as a fourth-grade teacher after being recruited, then advanced through four years as an assistant principal and ten years as a principal before her district-level role. She attributes her success to always seeing opportunities for growth, which propelled her through successive leadership levels from directly impacting students as a teacher, to supporting teachers as an administrator, to guiding from a district perspective, and now influencing multiple leaders through her consulting work. Bennett is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and maintains balance with her family as a football mom to her children.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Really know what you value and know what's non-negotiable for you. Because you will face challenges and barriers along the way, but as long as you have a student first mentality, you will always make the right decisions and choices.
