About Nicole
Nicole Castille, CPIM, is a Senior Supply Chain Planner with a decade of experience in supply chain management, including eight years in the chemical plant industry. She specializes in managing the flow of raw materials used in finished goods production while overseeing inventory control, driving cost-saving initiatives, and coordinating logistics across rail transportation, barges, ISO containers, and smaller packaging operations. Working closely with finished goods planners and internal and external stakeholders, she ensures efficient material planning, accurate labeling, and dependable product delivery in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Throughout her career, Castille has held progressively responsible positions in supply chain operations, including roles as a logistics analyst and inventory control supervisor before advancing into senior supply chain planning. Her expertise lies in solving complex operational challenges, improving supply chain efficiency, and adapting quickly to changing business conditions. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Louisiana State University while further strengthening her professional expertise through the APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) credential. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in strategic thinking, resilience, integrity, and clear communication. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Castille is committed to supporting her community through service and leadership. She serves as Co-Chair of the Parents at BASF parenting group and remains actively involved in her church. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to strategic thinking, resilience, and a natural ability to solve complex problems, especially under pressure. Throughout my career, I have embraced change with adaptability, remained focused on finding practical solutions, and approached every challenge with integrity. These qualities have allowed me to navigate evolving supply chain environments while consistently delivering results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to understand the entire business, communicate effectively, and consistently deliver results. Developing a broad understanding of how every part of an organization works has helped me make better decisions, collaborate more effectively with others, and contribute greater value to my team.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to find a mentor who can provide guidance and support throughout their careers. Stand your ground, confidently demonstrate your knowledge, and never allow others to discourage you from pursuing your goals. Be dependable, continue learning, and let your work speak for itself. Reliability, confidence, and perseverance will open doors for long-term success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges facing the supply chain industry is the ongoing trucking and logistics capacity shortage and the need to recognize and support truck drivers for the essential role they play in maintaining supply chains. Success also depends on strong communication and a willingness to adapt as business conditions evolve. At the same time, artificial intelligence and automation present significant opportunities by reducing repetitive manual work, streamlining reporting processes, and allowing supply chain professionals to focus on higher-value strategic initiatives, even though enterprise systems continue to have opportunities for improvement.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me are integrity, resilience, reliability, adaptability, and effective communication. I believe these principles are essential for building strong relationships, overcoming challenges, and maintaining high standards both professionally and personally.
