Her Story

About Nicole

I started my career in tech in 2016 with the Apple Work From Home project, and I've been growing in this field ever since. Currently, I serve as a Technical Support Supervisor at Hologic, a position I've held since January 2024. In this role, I handle a wide range of responsibilities including managing escalations from high-profile customers, driving engagement and accountability across my team, supervising and coaching technical support representatives, monitoring customer interactions, conducting performance reviews, managing scheduling, and driving consistency across our support processes. I'm also focused on creating and implementing new support processes, maintaining quality and compliance standards, and creating and tracking KPIs and individual goals. My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which has been invaluable in helping me understand people and organizational behavior. I've continued to invest in my professional development through leadership certifications including Raising the Bar in 2025, and Feedback That Works, Management Essentials, and Situational Leadership in 2023. These programs have taught me coaching, mentoring, performance management, and how to adapt my leadership style to different situations. I'm very self-driven and motivated, and I tend to set the bar very high for myself and my team.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm very self-driven and motivated. I definitely tend to set the bar very high, whether I achieve it or not, it's always there. And I've definitely had some great mentors and leaders along the way who have helped shape my journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to be prepared before the opportunity arrives. Another piece of advice that has really stuck with me is to stay curious and never stop learning. These principles have guided me throughout my career and continue to shape how I approach new challenges and opportunities.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field would be to focus on creating value rather than chasing titles. It's easy to get caught up in wanting the next promotion or the impressive job title, but what really matters is the impact you make and the value you bring to your organization and the people you work with. When you focus on creating real value, the recognition and advancement will follow naturally.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges I face in my field right now are managing competing priorities while making sure my employees are engaged, accountable, and supported. It's a constant balancing act to keep everyone motivated and performing at their best while juggling multiple demands. Another major challenge is change management - getting the team to adapt and evolve with organizational priorities and new operating models. In today's fast-paced tech environment, the ability to help people navigate and embrace change is critical to success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are integrity - doing the right thing, even when no one's looking. I believe strongly in following through on your commitments and treating people with dignity, empathy, and professionalism, so respect is a big one for me. I value both achievement and well-being, making sure that success doesn't come at the expense of people's health and happiness. Taking ownership of your results and decisions - accountability - is essential. I'm also deeply committed to building strong relationships and always helping others grow, succeed, and reach their potential through people development. I like to think of it as no one left behind - everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.
