Ten minutes with Nicole

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from gaining independence very early after my dad passed away when I was young. Living on my own very young I learned life skills like credit repair through trials and tribulations, worked multiple jobs, navigated roadblocks, and researched opportunities such as USDA loans to buy a home.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Just do what you love, and if you do what you love, each day won't be considered work.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you have a dream, go for it. There's nothing that you can't achieve if you just put your mind to it. Women should pursue their goals despite being viewed differently in the workforce.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges in hospitality include finding transparent companies that value employees, high competition especially with recent graduates, seasonal work requiring money management, and needing to leave personal life at the door while maintaining a positive demeanor.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Loyalty is key, both being loyal to a company and having them be loyal in return. Put your children first, prioritize your health, A job can easily replace you. However, your family cannot replace you. You can always find time to make money but you can’t take back time. Value transparency.
