Her Story

About Nicole

I started my career in art spaces in management and directorial positions, where I loved helping artists become more professional. I would pull artists, meet them, develop them, put them in galleries, and help them sell and present their artwork. After about 12 years ago, I relocated to Florida, and that experience transferred itself to the financial field. I've been in the financial industry for 5 years now, and in my current role as a financial wellness coach for two and a half years with Operation Hope. My day-to-day is basically one-on-one coaching, going out into the community and trying to create new ties for people to get word on the organization. I create connections between different organizations within the field. Since I'm Spanish-speaking, a lot of my workshops happen in Spanish and English, both in person and online. I coach people on their finances, on savings, on budgeting, and I help folks improve their credit scores by looking at their credit history and putting a plan in place to get them to a better place. My most notable professional achievement is helping people get into a better position - that's always my goal, any place that I enter, I just want to improve things by putting people in a better position.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I'm really big into wellness, which is why being a financial wellness coach works so well for me because it lends itself to wellness overall. I'm also a yoga-pilates teacher, and I love to work out because it helps me in so many ways. That's something I instill into my little ones too - working out, being outside, in the garden, visiting new parks with the kids. I'm definitely interested in volunteering and giving back, which is why I became a foster mommy and spent time in Mexico building houses and teaching English. My goal in any place that I enter is to help people get into a better position and improve things.
