Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nicole

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to tenacity, resilience, and the belief that failure is not an option. When I set out to come to America, I faced challenges that required determination and perseverance, including finding a sponsor to make that dream possible. That same mindset has continued to guide me throughout my journey. I believe that success comes from refusing to give up, finding new approaches when obstacles arise, and continuing to move forward even when things become difficult. I do not believe in simply accepting defeat; instead, I believe in trying again, adapting, and learning from every experience. The only true failure is giving up, and I have always carried the commitment to never stop pursuing my goals.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to respond, not react. I have learned the importance of taking a moment to pause, breathe, and approach situations thoughtfully rather than making decisions based on emotion. I was also taught to confidently ask for what I want while making it easier for others to say yes by presenting a clear, structured proposal. This means explaining why I am making the request, how it creates value, and how it benefits the company, the team, or the person involved. Keeping communication clear, concise, and solution-focused has been essential in building strong relationships and achieving meaningful results.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to read the room, pay attention, observe, and listen before responding. Take the time to learn as much as you can, understand the environment, and gather perspective before sharing your thoughts. Ask thoughtful questions and communicate with confidence, while being mindful of maintaining a measured and professional tone. It is important to lead with empathy, emotional intelligence, and composure, especially in challenging situations. Managing frustration, impatience, and difficult emotions allows your ideas and abilities to be recognized clearly and ensures that you are judged by your professionalism, expertise, and contributions.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry. At every stage of my career, whether as a young woman, a mid-career professional, or an experienced leader, being a woman in this environment has required resilience and determination. Women are often placed into limiting stereotypes, where they may be underestimated or unfairly judged based on perception rather than their skills and expertise. Overcoming these biases requires persistence, confidence, and a commitment to demonstrating value through results. While these challenges remain significant, they also create opportunities to advocate for greater inclusion, encourage future generations of women, and help reshape the industry for those who follow.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity and ethics. Integrity is at the core of who I am, and I strive to be honest, transparent, and principled in every decision I make. I believe in doing what is right and acting in the best interest of the greater good rather than pursuing personal agendas or individual gain. For me, the outcome and the impact of my actions matter more than personal comfort or convenience. Staying true to my values and maintaining a strong ethical foundation guide how I lead, collaborate, and navigate challenges.
