Her Story

About Nicole

My professional journey is a story of transformation from corporate to entrepreneurship. After spending over 20 years in quality assurance, engineering, and science healthcare, where I climbed from analyst all the way up to quality assurance manager leading teams of 50 to 100 people, I made a pivotal decision to step out of my comfort zone. When the pandemic hit and I was furloughed from my two college teaching positions in 2020, I saw it as an opportunity rather than a setback. I joined Primerica in December 2020 as a licensed life insurance agent and independent contractor, building my own agency within the company. What excites me most about this work is that I get to help women and men who are ready for a career change, people who want to work from home, earn extra income, and break free from corporate limitations. As a district leader and manager, I spend my days motivating and training my team on sales, meeting new people at job fairs and networking events, and coaching agents through their appointments to help them succeed. I'm proud to be one of the top producers in my agency, ranking number 9 out of 1,300 agents at the district leader level, and I'm currently on track to becoming a regional vice president. This path has given me something I couldn't achieve in my previous field: true ownership and unlimited growth potential. I bring all my skills from quality assurance, management, and compliance into this role, and I'm passionate about encouraging others, especially women, to keep an open mind and pursue opportunities that may seem outside their comfort zone but offer a bigger picture for their future.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage women to keep an open mind and seek something that could be out of their comfort zone, because it could give them a bigger picture and more growth in their abilities and what they're able to do. Women can do it all - we have 24 hours in a day, and the most important thing is just being able to come out of your comfort zone. When you reach mid-age, you might realize you have another 20 or 30 years to work before you're 65 or 70, so why not try something different? Don't be afraid to take that step and go with your gut feeling to make a career change. Take the skills you've learned through college and your other professions and apply them in new ways. I loved every single job I did before, and even the last company I left was encouraging and happy for me to change careers. As an influential woman, I want to encourage women to not be limited by the corporate ladder and to pursue opportunities for ownership and unlimited growth.
