Ten minutes with Nicole
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to turning pain into purpose.
My life has been shaped by challenges that could have defined me—childhood abuse, sexual assault, addiction, pregnancy and infant loss, and other deeply difficult experiences. Instead of allowing those chapters to become my identity, I chose to let them become my mission. Every setback became an opportunity to grow, heal, and help someone else feel less alone.
I also believe success comes from being unapologetically authentic. I don’t believe in pretending life is perfect. I share both the victories and the struggles because genuine connection is built through honesty, vulnerability, and compassion. People don’t connect with perfection—they connect with people who have the courage to be real.
Finally, I never lose sight of why I do this work. Awards, recognition, and accomplishments are meaningful, but the greatest measure of success is knowing that one woman found hope, one family found healing, or one person chose to keep going because they heard my story. When your purpose is rooted in serving others, success becomes so much bigger than yourself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was: “Stay true to who you are, even when it’s not the easiest path.”
Early on, I realized that trying to fit into someone else’s expectations only pulled me further away from my purpose. The moment I embraced my own voice, shared my story honestly, and stopped worrying about being judged, everything changed. Authenticity became my greatest strength.
I’ve learned that success isn’t about impressing everyone—it’s about making a meaningful impact. When you lead with integrity, serve others with genuine compassion, and remain faithful to your mission, the right opportunities and the right people will find you.
Today, every decision I make is filtered through one simple question: Will this help me make a positive difference in someone’s life? If the answer is yes, I know I’m on the right path.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was simple but life-changing: Believe in yourself.
Everything starts there. When you believe in yourself, you find the courage to use your voice, pursue your purpose, and step into opportunities that once felt out of reach.
I’ve also learned the importance of leaning on your community. You don’t have to navigate your journey alone. If you have questions or face challenges, reach out. Chances are someone else has walked a similar path and is willing to share their wisdom. None of us succeeds in isolation.
Finally, don’t be afraid to become an advocate—not only for yourself, but for others. When you use your experiences to encourage, empower, and uplift those around you, your impact extends far beyond your own success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is helping people move beyond the highlight reel of social media and embrace authentic conversations about healing, mental health, resilience, and personal growth. We live in a world that often celebrates perfection, yet the greatest transformation happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about their struggles.
At the same time, I believe this is also our greatest opportunity. More people than ever are seeking genuine connection, purpose, and hope. As authors, speakers, advocates, and leaders, we have the opportunity to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to rewrite their stories.
I believe the future belongs to those who lead with authenticity, vulnerability, and service. When we use our platforms to inspire meaningful change rather than simply gain attention, we have the power to transform lives and build stronger, more compassionate communities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my work and my personal life are authenticity, compassion, resilience, faith, and service.
I believe in showing up as my true self—not a perfect version of myself. Authenticity builds trust, and I want people to know they’re not alone in their struggles or their healing.
Compassion is at the heart of everything I do. Whether I’m mentoring women, speaking on stage, writing a book, or supporting military families, I want every person I meet to feel seen, heard, and valued.
Resilience has shaped my journey. I’ve learned that our greatest challenges can become our greatest purpose if we’re willing to keep moving forward. That belief fuels everything I do.
My faith reminds me that even in life’s hardest moments, there is hope, healing, and a greater purpose. It gives me the strength to persevere and the humility to serve others.
Above all, I strive to live a life of service. Success isn’t measured by what I achieve for myself—it’s measured by the lives I impact. If I can help even one person believe in themselves, find hope, or discover the courage to rewrite their story, then I’ve fulfilled my purpose.
