I stopped waiting to feel ready and accepted that finishing imperfectly is better than not finishing at all. Consistency is about showing up even when life gets messy.

Her Story

About Nicole

Nicole Gotsch brings more than a decade of expertise to healthcare revenue cycle management, having entered the field roughly twelve years ago. She spent over eleven years in accounts receivable and finance-related roles at Sevita Health, supporting group homes across multiple locations, before moving into her current position as an Insurance Specialist at Voyage Healthcare MN, where she manages insurance denials and appeals while identifying trends and resolving payment issues.

Beyond her primary role, Nicole extends her expertise through independent consulting, helping recovery housing organizations navigate setup, compliance, and Minnesota Department of Human Services regulatory requirements, with a focus on reimbursement strategy and operational readiness. She also founded Purpose & Glow Career Solutions, a business through which she helps job seekers craft strong, ATS-friendly résumés and build their career paths with clarity and confidence. Her professional foundation includes an accounting education, having earned an associate's degree in accounting from Post University in 2008.

Nicole remains deeply engaged in her community, volunteering résumé-writing services with Family Promise and partnering closely with Hope for Youth, including serving as a host home. Grounded in the values of trust and lifting others up, she draws on both her professional journey and personal experiences — including lessons learned through establishing healthy boundaries for herself and her daughter — to guide her work and her advocacy for others navigating similar paths.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nicole

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the breadth of experience I've built over more than a decade in healthcare revenue cycle work, combined with my willingness to keep growing beyond that role. Taking on consulting work with recovery housing organizations and launching my own business, Purpose & Glow Career Solutions, has allowed me to apply what I've learned in new ways and continue expanding my impact.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is to keep learning, be dependable and reliable, stay true to myself, and focus on one task at a time. I've learned not to rush the process — everything I need to accomplish will still be there tomorrow.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to set boundaries early and hold onto them.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Beyond my professional work, I've faced significant personal challenges, including navigating a difficult divorce from a partner struggling with addiction. That experience taught me the importance of establishing clear boundaries, both for my own wellbeing and for my young daughter's sake, and it's a lesson I carry into how I approach challenges more broadly.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Trust and building others up are the values that matter most to me, both in how I support my clients and colleagues and in how I show up in my personal life.
