Nicole Lewis
Nicole Lewis is the owner and operator of Pretty Girl Notary LLC, where she has been providing mobile notary services for nearly 18 years. Her work centers on serving her community—traveling to clients who need documents notarized, accommodating those who cannot afford services, and prioritizing kindness and de-escalation in every interaction. In addition to her notary work, Nicole also serves as a substitute teacher, demonstrating her long-standing commitment to supporting children, juveniles, and others in need.
Throughout her career, Nicole has cultivated extensive experience working with diverse populations, including people with disabilities, individuals transitioning from incarceration, and students in school settings. Between 2013 and 2019, she held multiple roles at Be Right Leadership Academy, including coordinating lunch programs and managing bus transportation, earning Employee of the Year recognition for her dedication and versatility. Her professional philosophy blends service, empathy, and community engagement, with a strong foundation in faith and volunteerism.
Beyond her business and educational work, Nicole is deeply involved in her community and faith. She serves at Second Baptist Church in both the evangelist and women’s ministries, participates in outreach efforts for the homeless, and holds a board position with the Richard Holman Foundation, supporting families affected by tragedy. She is also an active member of the Black Lions, Inc. motorcycle club and serves as a chair commissioner on her local park board. Looking forward, Nicole hopes to establish a small office space to continue her mission of accessible, compassionate service while expanding her impact in her community.

What do you attribute your success to?
I want people to remember that I always helped others and always cared for people. When I leave this world, I want people to say that young lady always helped, she always cared for people. That's what being a successful woman means to me - being someone who helped whenever anything happened, someone who was always there for others.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
You're never supposed to hate, you're supposed to just have trust in God, and do what God wants you to do, and always I say help if you can and keep your head up and keep moving, keep going.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you can help someone, help. Always learn to love and care for each other. Learn to be there for others is my biggest thing, because I like to help people, and my grandma always taught me to help. When I ever leave this world, I know people will say I always helped. I want you to always know, you're always supposed to love, even love your enemies. You're never supposed to hate, you're supposed to just have trust in God, and do what God wants you to do, and always I say help if you can. Keep your head up, and keep moving, keep going.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest thing I've had to do was notarize divorce papers, and I didn't like it, but that's what they wanted so I did it. Divorce papers are a lot of papers to notarize - that's the most I've ever done in notary work.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Whatever you do, I don't care if somebody's rude to you, just still try to make it better. Always try to make things better. I try not to have confrontation with people, because nowadays, people are really hurting people, and I don't want that. So even if somebody is being rude to you, you still try to make them feel better, or something like that. If that doesn't work, you know, you have to walk away sometimes from stuff, because things can end up with either somebody hurt or in jail, and I'm not trying to be in neither one.
