About Nicole Marie
Nicole Marie Charvet is a Houston-area construction professional and the owner of Built By Bond, bringing 15 years of experience across commercial and residential construction. Her career began in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked alongside her father in his residential construction business, gaining hands-on experience in scheduling, estimating, and contracts. She later spent several years in Portland, Oregon, advancing from Assistant Project Manager to Project Manager while overseeing retail tenant improvements and other construction projects. After relocating to Texas in 2022, Nicole continued managing complex construction projects, including restaurant, retail, financial services, and luxury design projects.
Today, Nicole combines her project management background with her entrepreneurial vision through Built By Bond. Her experience includes preconstruction planning, estimating, subcontractor coordination, permitting, scheduling, contract management, inspections, client communication, construction execution, and project closeout. Her work has required her to coordinate closely with clients, architects, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors while maintaining projects from initial planning through completion. Her professional experience includes serving as a Project Manager with ELS Construction and Hirsch Construction, as well as more than six years with Market Contractors.
Beyond construction, Nicole is committed to strengthening the industry and creating opportunities for the next generation of skilled professionals. She is active in the Houston construction community and has embraced mentorship, particularly for young women entering the trades. Through her involvement with organizations such as NAWIC and Texas Technical Trade School, she supports connections, partnerships, and workforce development. Nicole approaches her work with passion and a strong commitment to integrity, describing the challenges and complexities of construction as a source of accomplishment and fulfillment. Her goal is not only to build successful projects, but also to continue expanding her portfolio and making a meaningful contribution to the construction community.

01What do you attribute your success to?
A good, strong work ethic, determination, perseverance, and having a good why. My why is legacy. I'm doing this to leave behind a legacy.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Sometimes you have to educate your client. So don't be afraid to talk to your client and educate them on the expertise that you have.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't put limits or parameters on what you want to do. Pay attention to who you surround yourself with. If you want to be a leader, surround yourself with leaders. Networking is probably the most important part of my career. Don't be afraid to be a woman speaking in the room. Once you know enough to be dangerous, let people know you know what you're talking about.

Integrity is my biggest one. Building partnerships, friendships, return clientele. Focusing on building the community in Houston.
