Her Story
About Nicole
Nicole Postell is the Founder of MT Legacy Consulting LLC, a human resources consulting firm built from nearly two decades of experience and a genuine belief that businesses are stronger when their people are supported, respected, and led well.
With 18 years of experience in Human Resources, Nicole has built her career around helping organizations navigate the people side of business. Her approach to HR is grounded in the belief that it should be approachable, practical, and centered on relationships, not simply policies and paperwork. That philosophy became the foundation of MT Legacy Consulting and its motto, “Built on Trust, Driven by People.”
The name MT Legacy carries a deeply personal meaning. The “M” represents Nicole’s daughter, Matilyn, and the “T” honors her late sister, Tiffany. Together, they represent two important parts of Nicole’s story: the future she is working to build and the legacy she will always carry with her.
As a single mother, entrepreneur, and undergraduate student completing her Bachelor of Science in Management in December 2026, Nicole understands firsthand what it means to build something with purpose while balancing multiple responsibilities. Her vision for MT Legacy extends beyond simply creating a successful business. She wants to build a firm that helps organizations grow through stronger people practices while creating something meaningful that her daughter can one day look back on with pride.
MT Legacy Consulting LLC officially launches in 2027, but the heart, experience, and purpose behind it have been years in the making. For Nicole, this is more than a business. It is the beginning of a legacy.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Nicole
01What do you attribute your success to?
Nicole attributes her success to perseverance, faith in herself, and the determination to keep going even when life gets difficult. As a single mother, she has learned the importance of discipline, resilience, and leading by example for her daughter.
She also credits much of her success to her mother, whose strength, support, and example have helped shape the woman she is today. Her 18 years of experience in Human Resources, willingness to continue learning, and commitment to finishing what she starts have also played a major role in her personal and professional growth.
Most importantly, her daughter and the memory of her sister continue to give her purpose. They are constant reminders of why she keeps pushing forward and why creating a meaningful legacy matters so deeply to her.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice Nicole has ever received was to never get too comfortable. She has learned the importance of thinking outside the box, pushing herself beyond what feels familiar, and never being afraid to grow. She believes complacency can keep you from reaching your full potential, which is why she remains open to new opportunities, new challenges, and new ways to develop both personally and professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell women entering HR consulting to trust the experience and knowledge they already bring to the table, but never stop learning. HR consulting requires confidence, sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to think beyond one-size-fits-all solutions. Do not be afraid to ask questions, speak up, set boundaries, and challenge yourself to grow. Most importantly, stay true to your values and remember that HR is about people. Build trust, be consistent, and never become complacent in your growth.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in HR is dealing with difficult personalities while also managing the expectations of leadership. You are often placed in the middle, trying to support employees, guide leaders, protect the organization, and still make sure decisions are fair and consistent. You quickly learn that you cannot please everyone. The challenge is staying professional, standing firm in what is right, and being willing to have difficult conversations even when the answer is not what someone wants to hear.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me in both my work and personal life are trust, integrity, consistency, and respect. I believe in doing what I say I’m going to do, treating people fairly, and standing on my values even when it is not the easiest choice. I also value growth and accountability because I never want to become complacent. Whether I am supporting someone professionally or showing up for the people I love personally, I want others to know they can trust me, depend on me, and always get the same genuine version of who I am.
